Well here it is again folks, another outbreak of a virus that has the whole media in a frenzy. Before we go off the deep end, I feel the need to weigh in on this latest bit of hysteria. So I am being asked an awful lot of questions about what to do to boost up our immune systems so that we may protect ourselves from this potential epidemic. First of all I would recommend that your turn off your TV and stop watching the news reports about this latest outbreak. We have seen this sort of thing many times before and it is another example of the major news networks seizing upon the opportunity to scare the hell out of folks. Remember the bird flu, the H1N1, the Junta virus, and let us not forget mad cow disease.
Folks I am not doing anything different than what I always do and that is taking good care of my body by eating whole foods, getting plenty of exercise and rest, and providing good support for my digestive system. My suggestion to you is that you do the same. Here are 4 important items to consider to aid your immune system in fighting any viral infection:
1. Vitmain C. I can’t over emphasize the importance of thie particular. Since the human body does not manutacture vitamin C, you either get it in your diet or not. I suggest 2000 to 5000 units per day.
2. Vitamins A, 10,000 to 100,000 iu per day for a few days should be sufficient.
3. 2000-6000 units of D3 per day.
4. Iodine. Should be thoroughly tested for patient tolerance but 6mg is a safe dosage for most folks. Make sure there are no auto immune issues.
Remember that digestion is the most important function in your body and that all other bodily functions, including your immune system, are dependent upon a proper functioning digestive system. Roughly 80% of your immune system lies within your digestion tract and for good reason as your digestive system is one of your primary defenses against invaders. So please go to the articles about digestion on the website and read them over once again. Do not let yourself fall victim to the latest media blitz regarding the Ebola virus.
